Micronclean - Another Triple Purchase
Micronclean, which employs more than 400 people across the UK, with the majority of these based across its three main production sites in Lincolnshire, had been on the lookout for new packaging kit as existing machinery had become undependable.
“The problem that we were having was that the older kit had become unreliable, and the technology was somewhat obsolete, with replacement parts being incredibly difficult to source,” Micronclean Plant Manager Andy Grist said.
After reaching out to Friedheim International and consulting with expert packaging staff at the finishing specialist, Micronclean was able to quickly identify that the Beck Serienpacker SXJs would fit best into its production setup.
“We found that the Beck Serienpacker SXJs were similar in design to our existing kit but were capable of far higher throughput speeds than the older machines, which, for us, was the perfect solution” Andy Grist said.
Since the three machines were installed, Micronclean has seen a huge improvement in production, with the new machines reducing the amount of rework required on packaging defects, leading to significant savings on time and costs.
The flexibility and capabilities of the three Beck Serienpacker SXJs has also allowed the company to expand the range of products it can pack automatically, opening up more options for its customers.
“Introducing the three new Beck machines has enabled consideration of relocating work from other areas of the business, which in turn is supporting sales growth and allowing us to benefit from further efficiency gains in existing processes,” Andy Grist said.
